The deadly crane collapse on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas is now the subject of litigation. The widow and son of Terry Weaver, who died in the July 7 accident when the construction crane toppled in high winds, have sued the company who owned the crane, alleging the site manager should have known the conditions were too dangerous to have workers on the crane.
At the time of the accident the construction crane was being dismantled outside the Arts and Technology Building on the campus. Two workers died in the accident when the crane tipped over as strong winds and storms suddenly blew into North Texas.
