November is truly one of the best times of the year! It is finally cool, hockey is in full swing, college football is getting very interesting and Thanksgiving (which is Brad’s favorite holiday) is just around the corner. One of the other things that Parker Law Firm does every November is gather food for a local food bank. We have done this for the last several years and for the past couple, we have gathered food for 6Stones located here in the mid-cities.
6Stones launched as a non-profit in January of 2009 and is a local group that works to transform the lives and homes in the HEB community. They provide comprehensive services such as: back to school programs to provide supplies and resources to parents, providing Christmas gifts and meals to those in need, community ministries, and so much more. We are putting on a food drive to help them gather items they need this holiday season for families across the HEB metroplex.
Brad participated in the HEB Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program last year and had the unique opportunity to see first-hand the incredible work that 6Stones does and the invaluable support that they provide to the community. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I am so thankful for what life has allowed me to achieve and experience. Conducting a yearly food drive to try and help support 6Stones in some little way is the very least that we can do to give back.
So, we will once again be gathering items at our office in Bedford from now until December 20. Some of the non-perishable items the center needs most are:
- Canned fruit or vegetables
- Peanut Butter
- Pancake Mix
- Pancake Syrup
- Boxed Dinners (Hamburger helper, Mac & Cheese)
- Baby formula
- Baby food
- Diapers size 5 or 6
This year we are going to do even more, though!
For every item received, Parker Law Firm will donate $1 to 6Stones up to $2,500. So please, help us spend some money for a very worthy cause and bring by as many different items that you can!
Our office address is 2317 Plaza Parkway, Suite 100, Bedford Texas 76021.
